Create your classes and enroll students
Attendance lives inside sessions, so start with a class: days, times, teacher and the students in it. Students who are inactive don't take a spot in the roster.

Mark attendance from the session
Open a session in Classes (Clases) and mark each student present, late, excused or absent. The four states matter later: an excused absence isn't counted the way an unexplained one is.

Let teachers do it from their phones
Each teacher signs in to a web portal with their phone number and sees only their own classes. They mark students as present or absent and save, and anyone left unmarked is saved as absent. The portal is free; the mobile app for teachers is Pro.

Or let students check themselves in
With Pro, put a tablet or computer at the door as a kiosk. Each student has a personal QR code that you can print, and scanning it marks them present in the class that is about to start. The kiosk link is protected by a PIN and can't see payments or student details.

Review the history
Every student's record keeps their attendance. With Pro, the Attendance report shows the overall rate, a breakdown by class and the students who miss most.

The Saturday teacher opens the studio's web portal on a phone, sees the two classes assigned to them and marks the team present or absent before warm-up. Two students are away at a meet, so the studio marks them excused from the session screen instead. At the end of the month the owner opens each student's record and sees who has been in class and who hasn't.

What Membrix doesn't do here

So you don't find out after you sign up.

There is no geofencing, facial recognition or biometric check-in. The kiosk trusts the QR code, and it only marks students who are enrolled in a class about to start within a time window you configure.
In the teacher portal, teachers can only choose present or absent. Late and excused are set by an administrator.
Marking a student absent doesn't message anyone. Membrix doesn't send absence notices automatically.
The kiosk, the mobile app and the attendance report are Pro. The interface, including the kiosk screen, is in Spanish.

Frequently asked questions

Do teachers need to install an app?

No. On any plan they can sign in from a phone or computer browser to the school's teacher portal with their phone number and password, and mark attendance from there. The mobile app for iPhone and Android is part of Pro and adds notifications.

What does a QR check-in kiosk need?

A tablet, phone or computer with a browser and internet. You open your school's kiosk link, enter the PIN, and the device stays in kiosk mode without an administrator session. It scans with the camera or with a USB barcode reader, and you can revoke a device at any time.

What happens if someone scans at the wrong time?

Nothing is recorded. The kiosk only marks a student present in a class they are enrolled in that is about to start, within a window you set. If a student scans outside those hours, the kiosk tells them and doesn't save anything by mistake.

Can I see who is at risk of dropping out?

The student's record shows their attendance history, and Pro adds a report by class and by student. Membrix's nightly AI assistant can also point out students with three or more absences in a row, or who haven't attended in fourteen days. Its recommendations are written in Spanish.

Does attendance connect to class packages?

Yes. If a program is a class package, for example ten classes valid for eight weeks, each class a student attends is deducted when you mark attendance, and when the expiration passes the enrollment is marked finished.
