Membrix vs Jackrabbit Class: which fits a Spanish-speaking academy?
Jackrabbit Class is an established U.S. product with integrated payments, an English-language site and an English-language help center. Membrix is a newer product that runs entirely in Spanish and doesn't process cards in the U.S. We compared them with public information, sources and dates included.

Who each one is for
Membrix
- You, your front desk or your instructors work more comfortably in Spanish, and you want every screen and message in it.
- You want to start free with unlimited students and record tuition you collect by cash, transfer or your own card reader.
- Your students or guardians read Spanish and you want the sign-up form and portals to match.
- You run one or a few locations and would rather pay one flat monthly price than a tier that grows with your student count.
Jackrabbit Class
- You want card and bank payments (ACH) processed inside the software, with recurring auto-drafts, in the United States.
- Your team is comfortable in English and you want the product with the longest track record in dance, swim, gymnastics, cheer or music.
- You need text messaging built in, a custom-branded app or deep skill tracking.
- You prefer talking to a vendor and seeing a demo before you decide.
The short version
If your team works in Spanish and you are happy to record payments you collect yourself, Membrix is worth trying: it starts free and doesn't charge more as you add students. If you need card and ACH payments processed inside the software, text messaging or the deepest skill tracking, and your team works in English, Jackrabbit Class is the more complete choice, and Membrix does not compete on those points today.

Language of the product
Membrix: The dashboard, teacher and student portals, mobile app, sign-up form, automatic messages and receipts are in Spanish. Membrix has no English interface.
Jackrabbit Class: Its site, pricing and help center are in English. We did not find an official statement about a Spanish-language interface or Spanish-language portal in its public documentation as of September 29, 2026. If that matters, confirm with Jackrabbit.[1],[14]
Price and how it is set
Membrix: Free plan with unlimited students. Pro is $49/month, or $41/month billed yearly ($499 a year), per location. The number of students doesn't change it.
Jackrabbit Class: Tiers by number of students, per month: 0–100 students $49; 101–250 students $89; 251–500 students $129; 501–1,000 students $169; 1,001–3,000 students $209; 3,001+ students $245. Its pricing doesn't name a currency.[1],[2]
Contracts, trial and setup
Membrix: No contract. You can cancel any time and Pro stays active through the period you paid for. Pro has a 7-day free trial, with the card collected at checkout and nothing charged until day 8.
Jackrabbit Class: Says there are no contracts or setup fees on its standard plans, and that you can cancel at any time. Its site offers “Get Started” and “Schedule a Demo”. Its help center mentions free trial users, but we did not find the trial's terms on the pages we read.[1],[5],[13]
Card and bank payments
Membrix: Membrix does not process cards or bank payments in the U.S. You collect tuition your usual way and record each payment in Membrix. Integrated card payments and automatic charges are currently available only in Mexico, in MXN.
Jackrabbit Class: Its help center lists integrated ePayments in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. In the U.S., Jackrabbit Pay supports credit card and ACH. Its billing features include recurring auto-drafts.[3],[4]
Text messages and reminders
Membrix: Reminders go out by app notification and email on Pro. There is no SMS channel, and don't count on WhatsApp for U.S. phone numbers. The automatic messages are fixed Spanish templates with a short note you can add.
Jackrabbit Class: Text messaging runs through Twilio as an extra cost: per its help center, up to $69 one-time setup, $4.90 a month per number and $0.02 per text sent or received. It is available to clients with active, paid subscriptions in the U.S. and Canada.[5]
Mobile apps
Membrix: The Membrix app for admins, teachers and students is part of Pro and is in Spanish. Teachers and students can also use a free web portal from any phone browser.
Jackrabbit Class: Per its help center, staff can save the web Staff Portal to their phone's home screen as a shortcut. Jackrabbit Plus (Jackrabbit Class and the branded app together), a custom-branded iOS and Android app, starts at $93/month and carries a one-time $169 setup fee plus app store fees.[1],[2],[6]
Skill and progress tracking
Membrix: On Pro, assessments with attached photos or PDFs and level decisions (promoted or not) on each student's record. It is lighter than a dedicated skills module.
Jackrabbit Class: Skill tracking is part of its web portal features: milestones show up as soon as an instructor notes an achievement.[7]
Disciplines it is built for
Membrix: Any after-school academy: dance, soccer, martial arts, music, swim, gymnastics, languages and more, without discipline-specific editions.
Jackrabbit Class: Names dance studios, swim schools, gymnastics, cheer and music schools, with editions for those. Martial arts, theater, riding and art are listed under “get in touch for details.”[14]

Moving your data in
Membrix: On Pro, we help you migrate your student list, programs and classes (by WhatsApp or email, in Spanish). On the free plan you import your list yourself from a spreadsheet. The import screen is in Spanish.
Jackrabbit Class: Lists free data imports and an imports team that can help bring your information over.[1],[13]
What it costs, on the same basis
Same basis for both: US dollars, the monthly list price each company publishes, and the same number of students. Jackrabbit sets its price by number of students; Membrix Pro is priced per location, whatever the number of students.

- Each figure is the company's published monthly list price, shown in dollars. Jackrabbit's pricing doesn't name its currency, so we assume US dollars.
- Up to 100 students, Jackrabbit's entry tier is the same as Membrix Pro's monthly price. For one location, from 101 students up, Membrix Pro's monthly price is lower than Jackrabbit's tier. Membrix Pro is charged per active location. The free plan costs $0 at any size, but it leaves out the Pro features listed above.
- Price is not the whole picture. Jackrabbit's plans include capabilities Membrix doesn't have in the U.S., such as integrated card and ACH payments. Jackrabbit doesn't publish its card processing rates on the pages we read, so they aren't part of this comparison.
- Jackrabbit's pages describe in different ways when students are counted for billing, so we use its tiers as published without assuming a counting date.
What Membrix does
A product that speaks Spanish end to end
Screens, portals, the sign-up form, automatic messages and receipts are in Spanish, so a front desk or an instructor who prefers Spanish isn't translating as they work. The trade-off is that there's no English interface at all.
A free plan with no student cap
Add every student and run programs, tuition tracking, classes and attendance without paying. Pro adds reminders, the mobile app, reports and more, at one price per location.
Tuition that matches how academies sell
Monthly, fixed-length course, one-time or a class pack, each with its own billing day, plus late fees, discounts, one-off charges and one payment for several students. Amounts are tracked in USD.
Registration link with a review step
Share a link or QR code, let students pick a class and approve each request before anyone is billed. On the free plan, 3 new sign-ups a month reach your review list right away; later ones wait until the next month or until you move to Pro.
Portals for teachers and students at no cost
Teachers take attendance from a phone browser and students see their account, both in Spanish and at no cost. The mobile app is Pro.
When Jackrabbit Class is the better fit
No tool is best for everyone. These are the cases where the other option fits better.
You want payments processed inside the software, in the U.S.
Jackrabbit's help center lists integrated ePayments in the United States, with credit card and ACH through Jackrabbit Pay, and its billing features include recurring auto-drafts. Membrix records payments you collect elsewhere and doesn't charge cards in the U.S.
You teach dance, swim, gymnastics, cheer or music and want depth
Jackrabbit has editions for those disciplines and skill tracking that shows milestones in its web portal. Membrix covers the essentials for those disciplines, with less specialized depth.
Track record and support matter to you
Jackrabbit says it has served clients since 2004 and lists unlimited support, a product coach for new customers and support hours on weekdays. Membrix is a newer product with support in Spanish by WhatsApp and email.
You need text messages or a branded app
Jackrabbit offers text messaging (an extra cost, U.S. and Canada) and Jackrabbit Plus (Jackrabbit Class and the branded app together), an app with your academy's name. Membrix has no SMS channel and one shared app.
You want a vendor-led start
Jackrabbit offers demos, free data imports and help from an imports team. Membrix is built so you can sign up and try it yourself; on Pro we also help you migrate, in Spanish, and on the free plan you import your list yourself.
How to try Membrix while you keep using Jackrabbit
You don't have to switch anything off to test it. Run your real student list in Membrix for a few weeks and compare.
- 1Ask Jackrabbit for your student list as a spreadsheet. Its FAQs say a full data export is available when you cancel.
- 2Create a Membrix account with your email. There's no credit card and no sales call, and the app is in Spanish.
- 3Choose US dollars as the currency you charge your students in.
- 4Upload the spreadsheet in the student import. Membrix detects the columns and lets you correct them, and you review duplicates and the summary before confirming.
- 5Create a program for each thing you sell, with its price and billing day, and record a few real payments to see how balances and overdue charges look.
- 6Cancel Jackrabbit only when you're satisfied, and check your billing date first: its pages describe no contract, but confirm the cut-off with Jackrabbit.
