Music school software in Spanish for lessons, mariachi and choir

A music school that teaches mariachi, guitar and violin serves a ten-year-old with a group class and an adult who only has Thursday evenings. Membrix keeps ensembles, private lessons and instrument rental on separate lines of the same account, in Spanish.

Situations that only come up in Spanish-speaking music schools

A mariachi ensemble rehearses together and pays one by one

Create the ensemble as a group class with a capacity, and add a custom field called Instrument, such as “Trumpet” or “Guitarrón”, that you can use as a filter in Students. Each musician has their own account, price and balance, even though the rehearsal is one class.

Adults learning guitar after work

An adult who wants a lesson on Thursday evenings signs up on their own: the form asks whether the person is an adult student or the guardian of a minor. You create a class for one student, and Membrix names it after them with the day and time, so an adult schedule doesn't clutter your group calendar.

The violin rental is its own monthly line

Create a “Violin rental” program with its own monthly price and enroll the same student in it next to “Violin lessons”. The student keeps one account and one balance, but you can tell at a glance what is lessons and what is rental, and stop the rental without touching the lessons.

Summer is a two-week intensive, not a monthly class

A daily choir or guitar camp with a start date, an end date and a single payment is a fixed-length or one-time program. Enroll the student, and when the two weeks end the enrollment closes on its own, so the camp doesn't keep billing into August.

How Spanish-speaking music schools use Membrix

  1. 1

Set up a program for each instrument and each format

“Guitar, 30-minute private”, “Mariachi ensemble”, “Violin rental” and “Summer camp” each get a price and a billing model: monthly, a fixed-length course, a one-time charge or a class pack.

  2. 2

Create lessons and ensembles from the calendar

Click a time, choose one student or a group, pick the weekdays and the time on each, and set when the series starts and ends. Membrix shows how many dates it will create before you confirm.

  3. 3

Let students sign up in Spanish

Share your link or QR code at concerts and on social media. The form's built-in wording is Spanish, you can add questions such as “Do you own an instrument?” and you approve each request.

  4. 4

Record tuition in dollars and watch balances

Record each payment with its method and date, and use Add charge for songbooks or an exam. Payments shows what is pending, partial or overdue for each student.

What Membrix doesn't do

So you know up front whether it fits.

  • Membrix doesn't follow what a student practices or plays. There is no repertoire list, practice log or sheet-music library.
  • It doesn't book or pay for performances. If your ensemble plays at events, the fee you charge students is a charge on an account, and the gig itself is outside the product.
  • A rental program bills a price; it doesn't record which instrument a student took home. Use a custom field for a serial number if you need to remember it.
  • Payments through cards or banks aren't processed in the U.S., so a rental or a lesson shows as paid only when you record the money you collected.

Frequently asked questions about Membrix for Spanish-speaking music schools

Can I bill instrument rental separately from lessons?

+

Yes. Create a rental program with its own monthly price and enroll the student in it next to the lessons. The student has one account with one combined balance, and each charge shows as its own line, so you can stop the rental without touching the lessons.

How do I run a mariachi ensemble in the calendar?

+

Create it as a group class with the days, times and a capacity, and enroll each musician. Add a custom field for the instrument if you want to filter by it. Attendance is taken per rehearsal, and each musician keeps their own price and balance.

Can adults take private lessons and sign themselves up?

+

Yes. The registration form asks first whether the person signing up is an adult student or the guardian of a minor, and adults use their own name. You create the lesson as a class for one student, and Membrix enrolls that student and names the class after them.

Is Membrix's teacher portal in Spanish?

+

Yes. Teachers sign in to a web portal in Spanish on a phone or a computer, see their own classes and mark attendance, without seeing payment amounts. The mobile app for teachers and students is part of Pro and is also in Spanish.

Do you have a free plan for a small music school?

+

Yes. The free plan has unlimited students, programs, classes, attendance and payment tracking with no credit card. Pro adds reminders, the mobile app, reports and more, and it costs the same however many students you teach.
